Older Garmin Edge units will get features from the Edge 1060
Garmin is bringing Garmin Messenger, GroupRide prompts and more to older Edge units; some are in public beta now.
Garmin will add new features to older bike computers, so you do not need to buy a new one. Some work now and some arrive next year. A few features will not reach older units.

Your call: hype or real?
Real = it will matter in daily use. Hype = louder than it is. One vote, and it can’t be changed.
Our view and readers’ views are opinions, not statements of fact about a product.
Why it matters
Owners of older Edge units get new features without buying a new device, but the map features will not reach them.
Try it: if you own a supported Edge, join the beta.
