How we work

Less noise. More receipts.

Tech news is loud. Most launches are small steps sold as giant leaps. We do three things: check the source, say how big it really is, and tell you if it matters to you.

1. We read the source first

Every brief links to the original announcement, paper or filing, plus trusted reports. If we can’t find a source, we don’t publish it.

  • OfficialThe company or lab said it. Primary source linked.
  • ConfirmedTwo or more trusted outlets confirm it.
  • ReportOne trusted outlet reports it. Not confirmed yet.
  • RumorLeaks or unnamed sources. Treat with care.

2. We score the hype

Hype (1–10) is how loud the claims and coverage are. Real (1–10) is how much it changes things for normal people in the next six months. The gap tells you the truth:

  • OverhypedMuch louder than the real change.
  • As advertisedThe noise matches the change.
  • UnderratedBigger than the coverage suggests.

Your call

You can make your own call on a story: Real if you think it will matter in daily use, Hype if it sounds louder than it is. One vote per reader, it can’t be changed, and voting closes after 7 days. You see what other readers said only after you vote, and only once 20 people have voted. Readers’ calls never change our own score, and both are opinions, not statements of fact about a product.

3. We tell you what it means for you

Each story has a line for builders, creators, gamers, pros, students and the curious. Set your profile once and you see yours. Sometimes the honest answer is “skip it”. We say so.

How we use AI

AI tools help us find, sort and draft stories quickly. Every brief must pass the same rules: a real source for every fact, plain words, no invented numbers, and a fair, friendly tone. Our editor sets those rules and we fix mistakes fast.

What we don’t do

  • No paid coverage. Companies can’t buy a story or a score.
  • No clickbait headlines. The headline gives you the news.
  • No tracking profile. Your settings stay in your browser.
  • No affiliation. We are independent from the companies we cover.

Our sources

55 sources in 11 countries and regions.

Official sources

The companies and labs themselves. The first place news appears.

News agencies

Global wires that report fast and correct in public.

Leak watchers

Fast, but unconfirmed. Always labelled Rumor.
